Auckland’s favourite winter tradition is back! The Aotea Square Ice Rink returns for 2025, bringing cool fun to the heart of Tāmaki Makaurau.
This icy wonderland is your ultimate winter hangout. Whether you’re skating like a star or clutching the rails (no judgment!), there’s magic here for everyone.
Kick off your weekend with DJs spinning tunes every Friday night, flash your student ID for sweet Wednesday discounts, or bring your boo for our dreamy Skate & Date Thursdays. Romance, beats, and icy fun? Yes, please.
From first timers to seasoned skaters, the rink is a vibe—lit up, full of energy, and surrounded by city lights. It’s the perfect way to shake off the winter chill with friends, family, or even a sneaky solo session.

Please bear in mind that ice skating is an extreme sport which can result in harm or injury. The risks and hazards include, but are not limited to tripping, falling, collisions and cold exposure. By participating in the activities offered by the Aotea Square Ice Rink you acknowledge these risks could result in injury and you skate at your owner risk.
Keep Yourself Safe
The wearing of a helmet or a Paradice approved safety headband is compulsory. Skaters aged 6 years and under must wear a helmet (not a safety headband). We encourage wearing of gloves and appropriate clothing. Please follow our rink rules and the adivce of staff.
